If you’ve never been to our practice before, here are two easy routes you could take, using the Arcadia Public Library as a reference point: 

1. Head north on Santa Anita Ave, then turn left onto Huntington Dr. Turn right towards Quest Diagnostics. We’re in the same building with them, at 301 W Huntington Dr #217.
2. Head north on Santa Anita Ave, turn left onto Campus Dr, and continue past the golf course. Turn right onto Huntington Dr, then circle around to the southbound side via Centennial Way. We’re in the second building on the right once you’re on the southbound Huntington Dr.

How Much Local History Do You Know?

Founded in 1903 by Elias Jackson “Lucky” Baldwin, who served as the city’s first mayor, Arcadia began as a wide-open frontier town known for round-the-clock entertainment and a reputation for lawlessness. The city’s character transformed dramatically in its second decade as large land holdings were subdivided into smaller lots where poultry farming flourished, eventually becoming the area’s dominant industry. Streets were paved, lights installed, and saloons closed as Arcadia evolved from a rough-edged outpost into a respectable urban community.

By the 1920s, Arcadia had established itself as Southern California’s poultry-raising capital, with 10 to 12 hatcheries operating within city limits alongside a thriving cannery. Business districts developed organically along First Avenue, Huntington Drive, and Baldwin Avenue, though without a cohesive plan until the Planning Commission was established in 1925. Throughout its early decades, the city grappled with fire and flood control challenges, finally achieving effective flood management in the late 1950s after constructing a dam in Santa Anita Canyon in 1927. Today, Arcadia stands as a well-established community that has grown far beyond its pioneering roots while maintaining its distinctive character.
