As a result, it is home to a variety of dining, shopping, cultural and recreational options.

Located along the Southern California Coast, Arcadia is a bustling urban center with a population of approximately 56,323. With its location near the mountains and beaches of Los Angeles, it is the perfect place to raise a family. While the city offers plenty of opportunities for adventure, it also maintains a warm, friendly, community atmosphere. Since its incorporation in 1903, the city has undergone numerous civic improvements.

When the first homes were built in Arcadia, the local population was just about a thousand people. Many of the residences were small houses and farms. But as time went by, the population grew rapidly. By the 1940s, the number of people in the community grew to fifteen five hundred and twenty-seven. This population surge spurred a development boom in the town. During this period, a series of public works were undertaken, including a train station, parks and bridges. Most of these projects were funded by the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce. Know about Premier Dental Esthetics.

The city of Arcadia became a Charter City in 1951. A new city hall was built on West Huntington Drive. The city’s police force was also established. Additionally, the Arcadia Public Library opened on North First Avenue.

During this period, the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce was formed. It met at various city hall buildings, but eventually settled at its own building, the Beacon Building, which is now located across from Arcadia Park. See Next article.

The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce also encouraged home manufacturers and assisted in the subdivision settlement. They helped to build a Pacific Electric train station, sidewalks, and a daily newspaper. These improvements bolstered the community and led to a boom in the economy.

In the 1930s, the population grew, as new homes, schools and offices were built. There were many events and festivals in the community. One of these was the annual Arcadia Peach Blossom Festival. It was a two day event that was co-sponsored with the dedication of a Civic Center and a memorial grove. At the time of its creation, it was also a collaboration of the Los Angeles County Arboretum and the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce.

Today, the community continues to celebrate its rich history and maintain a healthy mix of economic and recreational development. There are a number of cultural attractions in the city, including the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage, the USC Pacific Asia Museum and the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanical Garden.
