Crown Process Works
We utilize an advanced computerized tooth creation technology known as CEREC. This digital system streamlines the process from imaging to production right in our office, allowing for quick results. Learn more about each step below.
A Camera Instead of Messy Impressions
Once your tooth is prepared, we utilize a highly accurate camera to capture a digital image of it. This eliminates the use of messy putty and impression materials that many patients dislike, as well as the uncomfortable feeling of a tray in your mouth. The digital image ensures that your tooth looks and feels exactly as it should, and is then used to design porcelain crowns for your teeth on a computer.
3-D Printer Mills Your Tooth in Less Than 12 Minutes!
We use two specialized diamond burs or points to mill a tooth from a block of solid porcelain right in our office while you wait. This eliminates the need to send anything to a dental lab, as our 3-D Tooth printer can "print out" your tooth in less than 12 minutes.
In the past, patients had to wait 2 weeks for a dental lab to produce a porcelain crown. With CEREC technology, we can mill your unique crown while you wait in the dental chair.
You can even choose the color of porcelain for your tooth to be milled from, ensuring that your new dental crown blends in seamlessly with your other teeth. We have complete control over the process, allowing us to offer you convenient porcelain crowns designed specifically for you.
Once your new crown is bonded to your tooth, you can leave our office with a restored smile - no temporary crowns or second appointment necessary. While you are always welcome to schedule a follow-up visit, it may not be needed with the high-quality dental crown designed for your needs.
