Laser Dentistry
One of the most exciting inventions of modern dentistry is in the field of lasers. There are currently three types of lasers: Lasers for diagnosis, lasers for soft tissue and lasers for hard and soft tissue. We are proud say that we use all three types of lasers.
Dental laser treatments in Arcadia
SIROLaser is a soft tissue laser for treatment of gum disease and other soft tissue therapies with minimum discomfort.
KaVo DIAGNOdent is a cavity detecting laser. The DIAGNOdent is capable of detecting the early stages of tooth decay before it is even visible in X-Rays or by traditional dental instruments. Early detection of dental caries enables us to remove the decay very conservatively. Early treatment means minimum treatment and minimum cost. It scans a cavity and puts out a digital reading indicating the degrees of hardness in the tooth surface to give us a very precise result.
The Waterlase Laser for bone, teeth and gums uses Hydrokinetic energy to gently remove the infected tooth structure and soft tissue. We are able to remove early decay without administering local anesthetic and without the use of traditional dental drills. In a matter of minutes, decay is removed with minimum discomfort and a natural-color filling is placed. We find that the majority of children, and many adults, prefer a Waterlase laser over the classic drill method that causes heat, pressure and vibration.

Patient Safety
To protect our patients and team, our staff wears masks, non-latex gloves, glasses, and clean over-garments. We strictly observe all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) guidelines and American Dental Association recommendations. All surfaces in the treatment rooms are cleaned and disinfected after each patient. Whenever possible, disposable, single-use items are used to ensure your safety. After each use, the instruments and handpieces (drills) are disinfected in a biosonic cleaner with an anti-microbial solution for 15 minutes. They are then bagged and sterilized in the Autoclave at 250ºF and 15 PSI for 15 minutes. We store all instruments in the glass cabinets until they are used.
For your safety, all water used in our office for dental treatment is distilled water. Furthermore, the water lines are treated with the DentaPure water purification system. The DentaPure System is an anti-microbial waterline product that reduces harmful bacteria by sterilizing water through filtration and the introduction of germicides and iodine. It is the only water purification/decontamination system used by NASA.

Laser and Cosmetics Dentistry
Diagnodent is a laser detector to find early dental decay. Tooth decay is like cancer of the teeth. When discovery early it's very treatable and much of the tooth structures can be preserved.
